BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am seriously shocked that we are having a boy! This pregnancy has been EXACTLY the same as far as symptoms go, etc. Daddy Doug and I are both on cloud nine! This will be the first boy to carry on the "Carey" name for this generation.
During the ultrasound, the little guy wasn't the least bit shy about letting us know he is definitely a "he"!
It is still taking some time to sink in, as I was very convinced I was having a girl (as all symptoms seemed to indicate).
We haven't even LOOKED at names yet, but hopefully we'll have 20 weeks or so to finally settle on a good one. The name "Elmo" is not currently in the running, although "big sissy" Ava thinks otherwise...
Please keep this pregnancy in your prayers, and that he is born a strong, healthy, sweet boy! Looking at everything on the ultrasound reassured us that he is currently healthy, and swimming along just fine.
All our love,
Shelly, Doug and Ava

How fun! Congrats!
My sister just had her second little one... which she "felt" was a boy (based on the first pregnancy). It actually was a girl!
We'll keep you in our prayers.
Love, Holly
Doug, Shelly and Ava,
How exciting! Our "baby" carries the last of the Griffith name, so we were soooo excited when he came along as was the entire Griffith side of the family. Your precious Ava will enjoy being a big sis.

Uncle Tom and Aunt Vickie
Yeah!! Crazy!! How great that we would have girls a few months apart, and now we will both balance the gender equation in our families a few months apart too!! Crazy! SO EXCITING!!! I had hoped to call, and thought about you on "ultrasound" day, but got caught up in the wildness of being on a teen trip! I love you!! Molly
Yeeahhhh!!!! Congratulations!! It's exciting to hear you'll have one of each! I'm sure Doug will be thrilled to have a fishin' buddy and someone to play catch with. (Although I'm sure Ava will be joining in too!!)
I'm so happy for you and pray that the pregnancy goes well.
Ava is going to be a great "big" sister and such a help to you. I'm sure she'll be teaching him all kinds of wonderful things!!
Love you -
Aunt Freda
p.s. I'm disappointed...I like the name Elmo! lol lol
Yay! Congratulations! I think that you are going to notice such a difference in Ava and this little boy... like for starters, their aren't nearly as many boy clothes to buy! :-) I'm so happy for you both!
