We were able to celebrate Father's Day this year, just as Doug requested: a little R&R beside the pool, and some grill-action. Ava gave Daddy another "gift" in church, through her contentment in the nursery (i.e.- we weren't paged to come get her :-). She did the same for me on Mother's Day, ironically. :-) We count ALL our blessings, don't we?
Doug, it has been so amazing to watch you as you love and help guide our sweet little one through life. I smile seeing the many "Daddy and Ava" hugs. I know she learns much about the world from you, and looks up to you completely. I am so thankful that she gets to see what a gentleman you are to everyone, how important God is, and how much you love your family. She definitely got lucky with you as her Daddy!
