Ava did amazingly well, considering the heat. (Don't worry Grandmas, we slathered Ava in 45 SPF). We all split some "Dippin' Dots" ice cream to try to cool off. Verlander pitched something fierce for most of the game. Tigers' Guillen went on the offense early, hitting in two runs. We then saw Chipper (Jones, an ATL Brave) hit the only Braves' homer, the final score: Tigers 2, Braves 1.

Luckily our seats were in a Tigers' fan-friendly section, so we cheered them on with the rest of our section. It was nice to see such a great turn-out for Detroit. Even Ava clapped and yelled "Yay!" a few times.
In the land of the free and the home of the Braves,
Shelly

Dearest Ava - Your parents are here as examples to you. Since you are new at this whole sports and baseball thing, I am willing to overlook the minor mistake in judgement in wearing an Atlanta hat when you could be cheering for your roots. After I caught my breath (after seeing the initial picture) I am glad I read on and looked closer to see that atleast your parents are setting a good example for you! I am glad you had fun at the game...and secretly I have to admit you look adorable! Your cheeks sure look rosey in the picture, looks like a hot day! Just remember girl you have two northern D-town parents...that makes you one TOO!!! I love you! Molly!!
It sounds like you all had a great time! Good to see you're rooting for the Tigers. Unfortunately they don't come down here to H-town. I need to get my fix of them on TV.
Ava you look so cute in your little pink hat! Your mommy and daddy are teaching you well.
I have to disagree with Molly on this one. Ava's got things just right with that hat. That girl's a Southern belle if I've ever seen one, and I'm pretty sure Scarlet would've never cheered for the Tigers!
