We had such fun with the Careys for Christmas. As is Carey tradition, we celebrated on Christmas Eve with a nice dinner and exchanged gifts. Tracy's fiance Tim joined us for dinner and the gift exchange. They headed to Tim's family's house after exchanging gifts with us.
I have been working for a while on collecting family member's recipes for Tracy, to give to her as a gift before she gets married next October. I also created a blog for her, to serve as a digital copy of the blog: http://www.careycuisine.blogspot.com/. I thought she might be able to use it, since she is currently working downtown at Henry Ford Hospital. I thought it might also be easier for her to print out a recipe while at work, by referencing the blog, if she needed to shop for ingredients on the way home. She really loved the cookbook and was very surprised. I was so glad! Even Jim added a recipe of his own (pigs in a blanket) for the book. Thank you to all family members who contributed. I know she will appreciate it, especially in her first days of their marriage.
We brought Liam's "death star" (Star Wars reference) activity center into the living room, so he could occupy himself while we all opened gifts. He and Ava both opened a new kid-sized piano and endless gifts. They loved it. :)
This was the first Christmas that three generations of Carey men were able to celebrate Christmas together. :)
Peace, love and Carey Christmases,
Shelly, Doug, Ava and Liam
