Halloween 2011

This year I decided to get crafty, after seeing a picture of a craft.  The famiily had made ghosts out of their feet, with white paint.  I thought it was too cute to pass up.  With my foot's high arch, my ghost had no torso, so I had to fill in my footprint to make it look more like a ghost.  We hung this decorative canvas on our front door for Halloween.

This year, Liam was a "Struction Worker" (Construction Worker).  Ava was a fairy.  You wouldn't believe how hard it was to piece together a construction worker outfit!  I guess the days of "Bob the Builder" are over.  I bought Liam a real toolbelt from Home Depot, bought him a few manly toys at Toys 'R Us.

We painted on his facial hair, which turned out to be pretty funny.  He used his insulated flannel shirt, some overalls and a pair of boots he already had.  Ava's outfit was pretty easy to find.  We bought a little white leotard for her and some girly accessories to go with the fairy theme.  The kids got some great use out of their costumes, going to the church Trunk 'N Treat, to Chik Fil-A for Ava's school celebration, trick-or-treating and also to Liam's school for his holiday party.  A good time was definitely had by them this year!

One happy construction worker.

Peace, love and a lion's share of candy corn,
Shelly, Doug, Ava and Liam
