We had a beautiful day on Saturday, so we ventured out to run some errands and pick up a pumpkin to carve. Doug picked out a nice pumpkin. It was a gorgeous day... The sun was shining, the sky was blue and it was fairly warm outside (mid-70's?). The weather has been nice here this week, but is supposed to get a little cooler today (low 60's). We enjoyed the warm spell while it was here!
Ava seemed to like the pumpkins... She had fun discovering them. She's definitely an outdoor girl. Because the weather has been so warm lately, her class at day care has been able to go outside in the (fenced-in) park area and play. When I pick her up from day care, she is having a blast outside with the other kiddos. I almost hate to end the fun by taking her home. So, we went for a walk outside with the jog-stroller. She seems to love the sights.
They told me yesterday at day care that Ava thinks she knows how to talk. I would definitely have to agree. :-) She is adding to the range of sounds in her repetoire, too. It will be interesting to see when those sounds turn into words. She has been a real sweetheart lately. She still likes to give her big wet kisses to Mommy, Daddy, friends and favorite stuffed animals, too. When we play with her while on the floor, she goes between playing, back to climbing up (using me) to stand up, back to playing on the floor with toys. She loves to be read to, lately, too. We read two books before bed. She now uses her pointer finger to point at things to which I have just pointed.
With love,
Shelly and Doug
