Ava and I were recently picking something up at the School Box store, to complete her school supply list for kindergarten. While we were paying, we noticed some small (African dwarf) frogs in an aquarium on the counter. Ava REALLY seemed to like them. I thought…I can HANDLE a pet like this!
Sidenote: I would secretly love a dog. Not so secretly, I do not desire a dog's tookus to be dragged across our carpet, nor find little surprises throughout the house. No tanks.
I inquired about the frogs. The price was right. You feed them twice a week, clean their cage once every three months and DO NOT HANDLE THEM. They don’t grow any bigger than they are at this point. My kind of pet!!!! So Rocky and Sunshine joined the ranks of our family in late July. Rocky is the darker of the two frogs, Sunshine the lighter frog. Ava named both.
Mr. Matthew (our neighbor) “watched” them for us when we were in Michigan. He, Kate and Scarlett did a great job! Thanks, Celender family!
The milk jug next to the aquarium, so you can see how small they really are!
We’re enjoying our reptile friends!
Peace, love and itty-bitty frogs,
Shelly, Doug, Ava and Liam
