We recently went to Michigan to attend the wedding of Doug’s youngest sister, Tracy to her fiancée Tim. The wedding was held on October 10th. Tracy was the most beautiful of brides!
Hopefully someone out there has some pictures to share, because I don’t think we took any! (Keeping the kids in their wedding attire and out of harm’s way was job enough that day). The kids did really well.
The wedding was absolutely gorgeous. It was held at St. Hugo’s of the Hills in Bloomfield, MI. The reception was held at the Royal Park Hotel in downtown Rochester. They pulled out all the stops!
The events leading up to, and after the wedding were fun, as well! I will try to provide details later.
Before leaving for Michigan, I was convinced that Liam would NEVER say my name consistently (“Mama”). He has said “Dada” in the past and consistently. I thought Ava talked much earlier than Liam did, but I will have to check blog records to be certain.
After thinking that Liam was a bit behind on his vocab words, I think he is catching up quickly. I think that toting him around to grandparents probably solidified his words.
Toward the end of our trip, Liam amassed quite a vocabulary! His repertoire now includes:
"Hi!"
"Dah-Doo!" (thank you)
“Mama” (yeah!),
“Uh-oh!”
“Dada”
“Ball”,
“Boon” (balloon),
“S’at?” (what’s that?)
“Zis?” (what’s this?)
“Duck” (truck)
“Dar” (car)
“Mah!” (more)
On the way back to Atlanta, we were stuck in 2 ½ HOURS of traffic in southern Kentucky… It helped that we pulled Liam out of his car seat for a break (while sitting in traffic) and pointed at the trucks and cars that drove by. “Duck!” “Dar!” :-)
I think he also has his own rendition of “Ava”, but can’t quite recall how it goes. :-)
I will be sure to share pictures when I can get them added, at a later date!
Here are a few recent pictures I took of Liam, while he slept. :)
Peace love and Liam garble,
Shelly, Doug, Ava and Liam
